Dear Alex, Most of the members of the Ontario Archaeological Society were “Tilley-clad” to some degree on our recent trip to Egypt and Jordan... 1 have two Tilley stories from this trip. The second wes when a lady was seen in the indistinct distance wearing a Tilley Hat. The guide volunteered ‘She is certainty a Canadian - she is wearing a Canadian hat - all you Canadians wear them.” - ft seems the Tilley Hat is recognized as Canadian, more so than the Maple Leaf in a land where there are no maple leaves - and the full gear is equated with a Ph.D. What more can | Say? polite, safe, easy-going, and hardly any tourists except at Petra.
