8 - Sunday, July 21 . 1991 - North Shore News VERSATILE Pacific Shipyards’ long awaited restruc- tured business plan includes the sale of the federally- funded $60-million floating dry dock for $14.8 million. Versatile’s financial plan filed in B.C. Supreme Court last Monday indicates money from the dry dock would go towards the company’s estimated $20-million debi. Previous reports claim prospective purchasers may set up the dry dock in a Japanese port. The floating dry dock is the only one of its kind on the West Coast and its departure would affect the area’s shipbuilding capac- ity. Proponents of the dock’s sale say the structure will remain idle if it is not sold. Anna Marie >Hould Versatile’s dry dock leave Canada?
