Concert features three choirs

THE CAPILANO College
Community Choir, Capilano
College Singers and the Argyle
Secondary Concert Choir will
join under one roof on Friday,
Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. for a three-chois
concert.

Highlights of the concert, to be
held at Mount Seymour United
Charch, include American com-

poser Samuel] Barber's chailleng-
ing Reiacarnations (Cap Singers),
a Kyrieeleison (Argyle Coir) and
a haunting composition ‘Lost
Lagoon’ (Cap Choir) based on a
poem by Pauline Johnson. Choir
directors Janet Warren and Lars
Kaario will cover a broad choral
repertoire from 16th to 20tb cen-
tury.

Admission is $6 for adults and
$3 for children and students, with
proceeds going to the church's
new church development fund.

The church is located at 3200
Parkgate Road in North Van-
couver, about one block from the
Mt. Seymour Park turnoff.

Museum volunteers sought

IF YOU enjoy learning and working with children and have a few free
hours cach week, Chere’s an opportunity waiting for you at the Van-
couver Maritime Museum.

Children from four to 12 years old take part in a variety of educational
programs at the museum. Under the leadership of fully-trained votun-
teers, they explore the museum galleries, learn how to tie a sailor's knot,
take a first-hand look at the historic vessels in the Heritage Harbour and
discover the port of Vancouver from the water.
