My chowder was dreadful: large
lumps of celery and green pepper;
clams and flavor both lost at sea.

The cream of broccoli was not
much better.

Our salads included iceberg let-
tuce, grated carrots and purple
cabbage. Dressing selection?:
Italian, Blue Cheese or Thousand
Islands. Strictly tourist fare — the
kind you hate getting when you
are on holiday. ! didn’t finish
mine.

My entree, unfortunately, was of
the same quality.

True, the meat was lumberjack
large, but it was plain fried with
salt and pepper and topped with
deep-fried onion rings and a pile
of sliced mushrooms. For $18.85,
most diners expect a little more
finesse.

Accompanying was a medley of
boiled broccoli, boiled cauliflow-
er, boiled carrots — all three were
tasteless and cold — and an old
baked potato.

My wife’s salmon was moist but
nondescript. It was lumbered with
the same deadening vegetable
sidekicks. ;

Dessert was a tiny square of
cheesecake. | declined.

Both meals were vastly over-
priced. .

__ The Seven Seas remains a
beautiful location and its buffet
still provides a good cross-section
of seafoods from some of those
seas, but beware all those who
stray from the buffet.

The restaurant is designed for
tourists hungry for harborside
location and roadside grub. .
