Al4 - Sunday News, December 14, 1980 Ge community roundup Yuletide concerts on ferries next week Passengers using certain Horseshoe Bay-Nanaimo ferries next week will be regaled for the fourth year in a row with carol concerts during the trip by local school and youth choirs. The concerts take place daily Monday’ through Friday (December 15-19) aboard the 11:00 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. sailings from Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay, Nanaimo. North Shore choirs taking part include Westcot Elementary (Monday), Seymour Youth Ensemble (Tuesday) Sentinel Secondary (Wednesday) and Eagle Harbour Elementary. Onboard for one round trip per day, each choir will present their program during the first 30 minutes of the journey from each port. They will be given lunch and a tour of the vessel during the remainder of the trip. “We've found this project to be both interesting and educational for the student,” Betty Nicholson, = In- formation Officer and co- ordinator of the project, stated. “They not only see areas in the vessel that would normally be out of bounds to them,” she continued, “they also are able to meet and discuss the operation of the ship with several corporation ‘Classified’ services expanded Two special community services have been in- troduced by the classified advertising department of the North Shore News/ Sunday News.
