From the left are Tracy Wheeler, Vocal jazz is back again Carson Graham hosts festival On Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23, Carson Graham Senior Secondary School in North ancouver will be holding its 4th Annual B.C. Vocal Jazz Festival. Thirty-five Jazz Choirs, involving over 1,000 student vocalists from throughout B.C. and the Pacific Nor- thwest, will be meeting in competition. This two day event is the only Vocal Jazz Festival held in Canada. On Saturday evening. February 23, starting at 8:00 p-m. Vancouver is in for a special treat. At that time the “Soundsations Swing Choir” and the “Sound- sations Jazz Choir” under the Barbara Miller Manager direction of Mr. DeMiero will be giving a special concert at Carson Graham, 2145 Jones, North Vancouver, B.C. The “Soundsations” were guest’ performers at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 1978 per- forming along side of the world’s top Jazz performers. The Montreaux Jazz Festival is considered one of the most prestigious Jazz Festivals in the world and it iS a rare opportunity for the people of Vancouver to hear a Jazz group of the caliber of the “Soundsations” in live performance.
