display in the Vancouver
Aquarium's underwater
viewing gallery.

The specimens have been
gathered from the University
of British Columbia's
Zoology Department
Vertebrate Museum and the
Aquarium’s own collection.

Two new stamps

to be

Postmaster General Gilles
Lamontagne has announced
the details of the first two
stamps to be issued in 1979.

On January 24 a $1 stamp’
picturing Fundy National
Park will initiate a new series
of National Park high-value
definitives. The tides of the
29-year-old New Brunswick
park pictured on the stamp
were painted by Ron Bolt.

Carnival, celebrating its 25th
anniversary in 1979, will be

commemorative stamp to be .

issued February 1.

The stamp was illustrated
by Antoine Dumas, a native
of Quebec City, and pictures
a colorful Carnival crowd
and “Bonhomme Carnaval”,
the jovial spirit of the
festival.

The official stamp launch
will be held in Quebec City
at the time of the Carnival,
and a large bas-relief ice
sculpture of the stamp will
be built for the occasion.
