AN evening lecture
series and a tour of
artisans’ ateliers offer a
glimpse behind the glit-
ter of jewelry art.

West Vancouver Cultural
Services has organized a tour

of the shops and studios of

several of Vancouver's best-
known jewelry designers. The
tour is Wednesday, Feb. 11,10
am. to 5 pam.

A bus will shuttle partici-
pants between the Vancouver
ateliers of Toni Cavelti, Karl
Stittgen and Catbalue
Goldsmiths, as well as Forge
and Form on Granville island
and the the Ambleside studio

College's downtown campus,

will learn about jewelry manu-
facturing techniques;
appraisals and purchasing

strategies; the properties of
gold, silver and platinum, dia-
monds,; colored stones;
antiques; and collectibles.

Wallace is a gemstone bro-
ker, wemologist, researcher,
appraiser and educator whose
20 years’ experience includes
both the wholesale and retail
sectors of the jewelry industry.
