BASKETBALL VOLLEYBALL Sports camps set to go DAN MISCISCO enjoys his All- Star Sports Camps almost as much as the kids do. Through the 19 years Miscisco has been running the camps, more than 20,000 kids have come to ‘play ball’? — that is, basketbail and volleyball. This summer, the sports clinics’ 20th anniversary, is no exception. With 52 five-day camps at eight North Shore locations to choose from, everyone should be able to find something to suit his summer schedule, This year, the North Shore News has sponsored 20 free camps. The camps begin in July and run through into August, but there is still time and spaces available to register. Miscisco says although the camps aim to develop skills, kids don’t have to be potential Harlem Globetrotters to join in the fun. ‘*There’s competition but it’s not viciously competitive. We're Stressing the team concept, the at- titude to practice, and recep- tiveness to instruction, We want it to be a blend.”’ “*But,’’ Miscisco adds, ‘‘the kids are good athletes — they're there because they want to learn.”’ The czmps have morning and afternoon sessions, three and a half hours each. They are divided into four age categories, spanning grades five through 12. The Best Protection in Light Guaranteed Service Lynn faLley CONTR 1199 Lynn Valley Rd., N.Van.
