Author to discuss cooking from scratch COOKBOOK AUTHOR Pat Katz will promote her back-to-scratch philosophy at a presentation on Tuesday, May 30 at Capers in West Vancouver. Katz, who is author of The Craft of the Country Cook, will discuss what city dwellers can do from scratch in their own kitchens to combat what she refers to as today’s loss of quality in foods. She will demonstrate foolproof ways of making fresh pasta such as ravioli and tortellir’, by hand as “well as by machine. Katz will also make a unique stuffing which people will be able to sample.
