Author to discuss cooking from scratch

COOKBOOK AUTHOR Pat Katz
will promote her back-to-scratch
philosophy at a presentation on
Tuesday, May 30 at Capers in
West Vancouver.

Katz, who is author of The
Craft of the Country Cook, will
discuss what city dwellers can do
from scratch in their own kitchens
to combat what she refers to as
today’s loss of quality in foods.

She will demonstrate foolproof
ways of making fresh pasta such as
ravioli and tortellir’, by hand as
“well as by machine.

Katz will also make a unique
stuffing which people will be able
to sample.

Katz hopes her book and classes
will help people become more
self-sufficient. She believes - that
upon learning traditional food
preparation and using their own
gardens for some of their food,
people ‘‘achieve a feeling of in-
dependence and pride that they

and fresh and aged cheeses.

During her Capers presentation
Katz will answer questions and
autograph copies of her book.

A car accident is a traumatic event for anyone, especially if
injuries result. There are, however, some very important things to do
following a collision which may preserve your right of recovery for
damages against the other driver, Some basic points to remember are

move his vehicle before the Police arrive. If he does move it, diagram,
or have someone else diagram its location on the roadway. -
2. Note and diagram the location of any debris on the roadway, if
