SHOULD be marking Sept.
21 to Oct. 2 on their Royal
Family calendars.

Park Royal shopping centre has
lined up some truly unique publici-
ty stunts, including rea! British
bobbies, a Rolls-Royce balanced
on four Wedgwood teacups, and a
model of the world’s largest
teapot, for a salute to Britain.

’ Beginning 10:30 a.m., Sept. 21,
the shopping centre’s South Mall
will return to the days of old
England for the launch of Great
Britain, Great Event. Sir Alan
Urwick, British High Commis-
sioner to Canada, will officialiy
open the event and following the
ceremoi.y the public is invited to
mingle with characters depicting
Britain’s past.

During the 12-day showcase the
shopping centre’s two malls will
also feature scale models of Big
Ben and Buckingham Palace, a
Welsh choir, Scottish pipe bands,
British-theme fall fashion shows
and other daily attractions.

“Great Britain, Great Event will
provide residents and visitors of
Greater Vancouver the opportunity
to explore Britain through exhibits,
demonstrations and entertainment,
as well as see first-hand the quality
and variety of British-made con-
sumer goods available in Canada,”
said British Consul-General Brian
