FEDERAL FUNDING was nounced Thursday for a = co- operative education project that will involve up to 95 West Van- couver students, A total of $169,717 from the Canadian Jobs Strategy will be put towards the project, which will evaluate post-secondary students and provide them with such things as pre-job placement training. The four-year project will start with 15 students and increase to 95 in its last year. Under the Co-operative Educa- tion option, the federal gov- ernment shares costs (0 a max- imum of $200,000 over a four-year period. The program, which more than 20,000 students participated in last year, relics on collaboration be- tween the private and public sector for its success in helping young people prepare for meaningful jobs.
