A 16-year-old West
Vancouver youth has been
- charged with assault causing
bodily harm, following an
attack on a 70-year-old man
who received four broken
ribs and a collapsed lung.

The man was injured after
he and another man of about
the same age had gone to

assist a man also in his 70s.
who was getting shoved
around in the parking lot of
the apartments where all
three men live, by a group of
youths.

to the police last Thursday
night about a group of
youths fighting in Park
Royal North area. They were
interviewed and one of them
was charged for the earlier
incident in which the elderly
man was injured.

Council sets hearing
for Lonsdale Quay

After waiting six years to
see the development of the
Lonsdale Quay, the people
of North Vancouver should
be excited and enthusiastic
now that the first steps
towards the development
have finally been taken.

This was the opinion
expressed at Monday night's
meeting of North Vancouver

council was presented witha
draft zoning bylaw for the
proposed development but
the subject was deferred to
the March 17 meeting so
council would have a chance
to study the plan.

The plan presented to
counciu on March 10 differed
from the proposal for the

institute which was an-
nounced in October, ac-
cording to Payne.

Construction, which was
scheduled to begin about
April 3 will be set back by
the delay in the scheduling
of the public hearing which
has now been set for 8 p.m.,
March 31.
