lam-writing about a recent

experience I had. A year ago,

I bought one huadred dollars
worth of Canadian Govern-

ment Bonds, figuring this to.

be a good holding method for
my hard-earned green stuff.
Having eagerly awaited’ the
November 1977 expiry date
on the first coupons, I made

my way down to the bank ...

and guess what! Good old.

Uncle Canuck wanted twenty:

five percent of my $8.50

interest.

What, you may ask was my
grievous offence? Was I an

haps ..: or an embezzler?! No.

... my single error lay in the

a social insurance number.
Apparently anyone without
