As we approached, the lit sails of the Star Fler became visible. It was if we had stepped into a storybook filled with mystery and magic. The adventure was about to begin — the tall ship would be our home for the next seven days, As a warm tropical breeze swept Over us We Were wel- comed aboard by the Star Flyer’s hospitable crew. Photographs of famous clipper ships hung on the walls, brass fittings and mahogany accented the spa- cious staterooms. Navy blue and crisp white cotton fabrics, reflecting the colours of the sea and sky draped the queen-size bed. A marble sink and floor were typical of the luxurious fea- tures the vacht had to offer. ‘Travelling aboard the Star Eber is truly a pampered vacation, Thai massage any- one? Our destination was the uninhabited Barong and Similian islands of Thailand and Malaysia, Beautiful, long white sandy beaches and coral reefs line the tree-covered islands — ideal hideaways for a romantic stroll or private tanning. Crystal waters and an abundance of marine lite offer some of the best diving in the world. If you need a little more adventure cigarette boats wait to whisk you through the mangroves to James Bond Island. Then its off to a fishing village for lunch. Days were spent swim ming, Windsurfing and water- skiing. Scuba diving is avail- able for a nominal fe 2, and if you're interested, the snorkelling equipment is given to you on the first day tor vour personal use throughout che trip. Storytime rakes place on the deck every evening before dinner. Dine when and with whom you want — the Thai chef might even give you a lesson or two. In October Roseway Travel is planning a Caribbean veyage aboard the Star Flyer.
