ondary teacher who
was convicted in
October of sexually
assaulting a female stu-
dent in 1993 has been
sentenced to 24
months’ probation.

Daryl Samson, +5, is to
abstain from drinking alcohol
as part of his probation orders
issued on Dec. 16. in
Vancouver Provincial Court
by Judge David Smyth.

Samson was charged after

trous school field trip in
November 1993 outside the

Rodgers. Rodgers sentenced
Samson to 21 days in jail and
12 months’ probation.

Samson appealed the con-
viction. A new trial was
ordered. The prosecuting
Crewn lawyer in the second
trial, James Sutherland, was
unavailable for comment.
