MYSTERY GAS LEAK

RCMP closed off two
sections of the road
while Hydro workers

and municipal workers
tried to find the source
of the leak. Manholes in
the area were capped
with venting apparatus

as shown in the picture
and after taking
readings from each
venting area it was
eventually possible to
determine the area of
the problem. By 9:15
p-m. — five hours after
it had first been
detected — the leak was
clamped and the road
was reopened to four
lames of traffic.

Six arrested in $15,000 dope bust

RCMP swoop

Six people have been
charged and an estimated
$15,000 worth of drugs was
seized Friday after a raid on
a North Vancouver home.

An RCMP spokesman said
seven ounces of MDA and
seven grams of hashish were
seized at 3601 Mount
Seymour Parkway as_ the
result of a lengthy in-
vestigation by the North Van
drug squad.

The arrests were made
“during a routine’ in-
vestigation of a major
dealer,” the spokesman said.

Charged under the Food
and Drug Act with
possession of a restricted
drug for the purposes of
trafficking are Robert Fall,
aged 24, Douglas Beasley,
aged 24 and Louise Neufeld,
aged 20, all of 3601 Mt.
Seymour Parkway, and
Phillip Steward, aged 33, of
Saskatoon.

Russell Kent, aged 21,
Burnaby was charged with
possession of hash oil under

Georgette Scoones, aged 26,

of Surrey was arrested in
Surrey as a result of the
investigation and charged
under the Food and Drug
Act with possession of LSD
and MDA.
