over ribs. Pressure cook for
15 minutes at normal
pressure. If you don’t have a
pressure cooker, steam the
browned ribs in one cup of
water until tender, about 2
hours. Reduce the water to
% cup by boiling and com-
bine with the rest of the
sauce ingredients. Simmer
until the onions are tender.

this week - plan to buy a
whole lot of it and form it
into barbecue-size patties for
the freezer. I freeze them in-
dividually on a cookie sheet
and bag them later. They
keep a lot better if you
double-bag and exhaust as
much air as you can from
the package. A friend of
mine uses a plastic straw in
the neck of the bag and
sucks the air out but I never
seem to have a straw handy.

Summer is here and kids
are out of school within the
next few days. Isn’t it fun
running a short-order kitch-
en for two months?

A handy snack to have on
hand is frozen seedless green
grapes. Remove the stems
and freeze in individual serv-
ings in sandwich bags. Hand
them out when you hear the
popsicle truck on the stréet.
