THE NORTH Shore Health
Board announced the appoint-
ment of Dr. Inge Schamborzki
as the board's chief transition
officer effective April 1.

In her six-month — position,
Schamborzki's task will be to over-
see the orderly transition of respon-
sibilities from the Ministry of
Health to the health board.

The health board will gradually
assume responsibility for all min-
istry spending on the North Shore,
other than professional fees and
subscription charges. -

Schamborzki will seek under-
standing and agreement among the
health board, health ministry and
existing North Shore health-care
nuntagers and service providers.

Schamborzki’ was chair of the
North Shore Health Regionalization
Planning Committee, which predat-
ed and planned the creation of the
North Shore Health Board.

She is presently an adjunct pro-
fessor at the University of British
Columbia School of Nursing,
