Instead, many may prefer to shop ‘*‘by the book’? with their Leigh Morgan catalogue and local Tepresentative to supply them with good-looking coordinates. With the launch of the Van- couver-based company’s spring 1991 collection, customers can find fashions for every facet of their busy lifestyles from work to workouts. Classic pieces in lustrous silk noile make up the new career line. A fully-lined collarless jacket can be paired with a short, slim skirt, pleated pants, cuffed city shorts and a short-sleeved top for nine to five elegance. After hours, a woman can slip into sportweight cotton jersey ‘sweats’ or a com- fortably styled jumpsuit. Coordinated pieces in the com- pany’s signature interlock biend are the keystone of the line. This season, popular basics — skirts, pants and shorts — are com- plemented by a new Chanel-style jacket top, a pin-tucked top with matching skirt and a double- breasted dress that is simple enough to go from boardroom to beach with a simple switch of ac- cessories. Apart from the silk noile, all fabrics are easy care. To her ‘core’ iaterlock collection, a cus- tomer can add a Ponte de Roma weave jacket, combed cotton jersey T-shirts and solid poplin shorts and pants for endless mix and match options. Printed fabrics are specially selected to complement the plain shades. This season, a fashionable sheli-printed poplin is used for basic separates. Oxford stripe cot- ton appears as a blouse and shirt, and a traditional Oxford plaid is made into a skirt, blouse and shorts. Seasonless cotton knit sweaters, some textured, several in in- novative color mixes, complete the spring line. Particularly striking is a two-tone sweater in color mixes such as burning rose and white. New this season is an anchor print short sleeve sweater and the essen- tial summer cardigan. Rather than separates, Leigh Morgan offers a single carefully coordinated collection. Silk pants, for instance, can be teamed with a cotton sweater or a shell-printed tank top which can, in turn, be matched with its own skirt or in- terlock culottes. Five years in operation, the Leigh Morgan palette of nine col- ors features shades for every “*season.”” For more information, contact Mandy Diedrick or Kendra Bradley at 876-8282.
