Shore players named to B.C. badminton team SEVERAL NORTH Shore bad- minton players are among the players announced recently by Badminton B.C. to represent B.C. at the Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island Feb. 19-23. Among the men named to the team is West Vancouver's Brent Olynyk while among the women chosen for the team ure Nancy Reid, Allison Rice, Elma Ong and Moira Ong, all of the Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver. Team manager is Mimi Nilsson of Richmond and the coach is Zip Dhanani, Hollyburn’s badminton pro. The team, with five current Ca- nadian junior champions, is predicted to carn medals in ail six events. The competition is a team event followed by individual events. Improve posture, breathing ANNA HALTRECHT will be teaching an Awareness Through Movement class at recCentre Ron Andrews on Wednesday evenings beginning Jan. 16. A certified Feldenkrais practi- dioner, Haltrecht will teach the Feldenkrais method where stu- dents will learn better posture and breathing, greater Mexibility and ease of movement and improved coordination and balance. The Feldenkrais method teaches participants to move with mini- mum effort and maximum effi- ciency through knowledge of how the body works rather than by us- ing muscular strength, Haltrecht Says.
