The target group for the pro- gram, offered by staff from the Learning Resources Group, is women between the ages of 45 and 60. The 10-week sessions focus on self-assessment, self-esteem devel- opment, skill analysis, goal setting and job market and training in- formation. = business eo briefcase Michael Becker ET A 1987 North Shore Wemen’s Centre survey found that “some women on the North Shore experi- ence a high rate of isolation...the pervasive experience of isolation and its related sense of low self- esteem is suggested to be at the root of some of these women’s difficulty in affecting change in their lives.” . Said NSWC coordinator Kathy Dornan, “We are particulasty pleased that this program will benefit mature women, a group that often falis between service gaps, and yet, due to family changes, health and aging issues, and inadequate incomes, is often in greatest need of services.” The Jobseekers Network groups begin 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, at NSWC, 201-145 West 15th Street in North Vancouver. During the daytime, the groups will meet 9:15 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4 at North Shore Neighborhood House, 225 E. 2nd St. in North Vancouver.
