Photos and Story by ELLSWORTH DICKSON - . Richard and Linda Paluck have a very special house. | Built about 25 years ago, it is. not only one of the first | houses in Lions Bay, but also” one of the first “A” frames in the area. After building the first “A”, two and a half years later the second “A” was added. When the Palucks bought the house four and a half - years ago, they immediately added a fireplace to the living room, which now has a. “contemporary-country”’ fl-— avour. One of the reasons | Richard and ‘Linda’ bought the house was the fact that although it is only 10 minutes. from Horseshoe Bay, you really feel you are in the | country with forest and ocean views all around. Country retreat The house has three bedrooms and one office, one fireplace, a _ billiard room, and a couple of decks, one of which goes just about around the entire house. There is also a carport. The lot is totally wild with no maintenance except occasional tree-topping to preserve the view of the Howe Sound and the islands. The kitchen has unique cupboards. Because of the sloping wall on one side and a glass wall on the other, cupboard space was limited. . To utilize the available: space to the maximum, the shelves in the under-counter cabinets roll out several feet revealing a great deal of storage space. There is also a pantry nearby. Future plans would in- clude adding another deck on the gound level and, of course, a hot tub in the trees. Opening New Doors on the North Shore
