(Terry Peters photo) The Ministries of Health, Education, and Human Resources are announcing the formation of an inter- ministerial team to conduct a survey of the special needs of, and the, services available to, the severely handicapped children and adolescents (0- 19) throughout Columbia. . Most services available to these chitdren and adolescents -are funded either directly or indirectly by the provincial ministries. The Study Team is expected to develop an inventory of a British ‘Godspell’ coming The smash hit musical “Godspell” will be presented February 29, March 1, 2,7, 8 and 9 by the “United Players” of West Vancouver United Church. “Godspell” is primarily a rock musical based on the Bible’s parables, and the life of Christ according to St. Matthew. The cast and production staff are all fresh, en- thusiastic and very talented. Cast members include Liz Martin, Lisa Kofod, Amanda Hardman, Joanne Hogarth, Cathy Wilkins, Tim Huat, Doug Pinkerton, John Payne, David Chernoff and Gordon McLean. Music is by Elinor McLean, Drama by Michael Foster and Production by Paul McKinnon. With this kind of talent it should be a real treat! So don't miss it! The time is 8 p.m. and the place is the West Vancouver Secondary School Theatre at 1750 Mathers Ave. There is a_ suggested donation of $3.00 in lieu of admission. Night School workshop coming up By LOIS LIGHT There will be another all- day workshop on April 19th, a fairly far-off date to be sure. The reason for the announcement being mentioned now is that the Night School office would like to hear from you if there tS’ a course you've been hankering for and never seen offered. Sometimes, of that's because its inclusion wouldn't be feasible or there's no one to teach it, but it could also be that it’s never been thought of and all it would take would be your suggestion to give it the breath of life. If the subject is one you'd like to teach, let the office hear about that, too. Phone 985-8741, and course, ask for Yvonne, and she'll take up from there. Your spring brochure will be delivered on March 19th, with your North Shore News. If you don't get it, ask for it. Do you remember that you can start at the North Shore School of Commerce the first Monday of every month? (The only courses where this is not possible are the medical ones, which are January and April only.) It’s hard to imagine anything more practical for these inflation ridden days than the acquiring of a new skill like those offered here, or the brushing up old ones which have gotten rusty with disuse. The facts surrounding it are all positive -- you can work at your own pace, there’s individual instruction, it’s only $65 for full days, $45 for mornings, and $35 for af- ternoons, and the fees are deductible for Income Tax purposes. Give it some serious thought if you yearn ta get back into the work force, but feel you've been out too long to be useful. Just think how much more experience you have now than you had when you last worked — don’t let all that wisdom go to waste!
