Hopes high for housing market

THE RESIDENTIAL real
estate market in the Lower
Mainland is forecast to
outperform every major city
in Canada in 1991, in spite
of an expected slowdown in
the provincial economy dur-
ing the first half of the year.

mately 35,000 people to the
Greater Vancouver area will
offset the impact of the
slowing economy, adding to
the market’s equilibrium,”*

per cent over 1990 levels to
