THANKS to the outstanding support of over 25
sponsors, 200 volunteers, 900 participants and
several thousand donors, the eighth annual Lions.
Gate Hospital Foundation 9-1-1 Relay has raised
over $150,000 — significantly more than i its tar-
get of $130,000.

These funds will allow the North Shore Health Region to
purchase four additional fetal monitors for its labour delivery ot
unit at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. :

“This equipment is important because it allows staff to mon- ~
itor the health status of both mother and child during high risk
situations,” North Vancouver physician and 9-1-1 Relay
Committee chair Dr. Haley Broker said. : .

“Having these new monitors will help enhance the quality of ° »~..
care for the 1,500 newborns delivered at LGH each year. This e
will be money well spent.” :

The 9-1-1 Relay was held on Sept. 17 in West Vancouver’ §
Ambleside Park.
