“Customers can watch us package their goods,” says
Packing Depot's Rivk Vet.

Simply put, the new Packaging Depot on East 2nd
Street at Lonsdale in North Vancouver is a warehouse-
style retail location that packages people's goods.
This is the fourth location for this B.C. company and
they've found their niche in packaging your
belongings and shipping them wherever they need to
go — from Royal Doulton figurines destined for
eastern Canada to a Harley Davidson recently shipped
to Austrafia.

“We can do anything,” says Rick. “Yesterday we
shipped two containers of antique furniure to Hong
Kong for a focal customer. It's 4 unique business. No
day is the same as the one before.”

The Packaging Depot ships around the world. using a
variety of couriers, tracking companies and ocean
carriers. “We are a Fedex dealer,” says Rick. “Most
people call us and ask for our advice. For example, if
you had a letter and it needed to be in Toronto
tomorrow, we would recommend Fedex. If you had a

~ parcel and you weren't concerned about how long it
took to get there, we would recommend sending it by
ground service.”

The Packaging Depot cifers pick-up and delivery

overnight, weekly or monthly delivery

B serice. Customers can bring their goods to
the warehouse to be packtged, or request
that the Packaging Depot pick their goods
up, package them and then ship the parcel
to its destination. “We wil! even deliver
packaging supplies,” adds Rick.

Rick says the difference between them and

other delivery companies is that the

BE rather than 2 warchouse district, and

therefore, it's much more accessible to the public.

“We're neat and clean and everyone dresses

appropriately, and we're friendly!" adds Rick. “We

think that's important. we like to treat the customer as
we want to be treated.”

The most common goods handled by the Packaging
Depot tend to be artwork computers and “arjthing
fragile,” says Rick. They also irequenily ship personal
effects across Canada, the U.S.A. and around the work
with no limits on how few boxes a customer can send.

“We carry selection of 1600 cardboard boxes in kraft
or white, and a full range of packaging supplies for
de-it-yourseliers. We 2lso make custom crates like
the one we made for the $100,000 computer we
moved recently,” says Rick.

Rick says they do pick-ups and deliveries early in the
morning before the store opeas and in the evenings
after the Packaging Depot is closed. The traffic and
the parking is better then too, he adds.

So, whether you like io personally watch your goods
being packaged in the store, or you prefer the
personai pick-up, package and delivery service
offered by the Packaging Depot, you will want to
check them out next time you have important goods
to deliver.
