THE owner of a North
Shore dealership has been
named to the board of
directors of a group aim-
ing to increasing con-
sumer confidence in the
province’s motor dealer
industry.

James Carter, owner of North
Vancouver's Carter Chevrolet
Oldsmobile, is one of 15 directors
appointed to the beard: of the
Motor Dealer Standards
Association (MDSA) of B.C. Last
Tuesday.

The group seeks to create a
high degree of coatidence in the
motor dealer industry and the
neaple in it through:

B the registration of all sellers of

new and used moter vehicles
(except private personal sales) in
B.C.

the adoption of a code of ethics
by all registered motor dealers;
B the development of a core pro-
fessional education curciculum for
licensing and providing ongoing
education and learning for all reg-
istered sellers in BUC. and
