Vinci exhibit in Victoria will be disap-
pointed if its Renaissance masterpieces
they're after.

Sui, museum publicist Chris Higgins said
that’s nota bad haul.

“Da Vine drawings, paintings and sculptures are very rare.
There are only 10 or i] originals i ia the world. And we have
five of them in the exhibit,” said Higgins following the
show's opening last week.

Besides, Leonardo: Scientist, Inventor, Artist is not an art
show, he added. “It’s about the man.” [Us the first exhibition
representing a full range of Da Vinei’s works, fs meant to
iHustrate the mind of Da Vinci at work, following through on
his inughts into anatomy, navigation, war, boty. he draulies,
architecture, aviation -- and art.

Multimedia displays and hands-on exhibits make the exhi-
bition fun and educational for kids as well as adults. The
show continues to Feb, 28.

opened her una Woman School of Dance Arts in
West Vancouver. In 83 the Anna Wymas Dance
Theatre made its debut at the Vancouver Art
Galery. The following year, Wyn was honored
with a YWCA Women of Distinction Award for
pursuit of excellence in the arts.

Artists For Rids are inviting students to stay after class.

After school art classes for students ages five to ES start
Oct. 13 and run tor cght weeks

The alayses are taught by specialists Who are among
Canada’s best, according to Artist For Kids director Hill
MacDonald.

These specialists include George Littlechild. a painter and
printmaker and internationally recognized First Nations artist.

Littlechild will teach students ages PE to f4.

Other series include Dragens and Van Gogh tor students
at Kindergarten to Grade 3. cartooning tor grades 5 through
8 and figure drawing tor grades 10 through 12.

Registration is ona tirst-come basis. Class size is limited to
16 to 20 students. Prices v ary trom $75 to SYO per scries.
