Get Down to the Hoedown!

Get out your cowboy boots. It's Hoedown
time again in Dundarave! And this year's
event promises to be the best ever yet!
"We've got the liveliest country and western
band this side of the Lions Gate Bridge," says
Graham MacLean, who is in his fourth

year as chair of the wellknown event.
“Doreen Sillary will also be there,

leading her group of rootin' tootin’

line dancers!"

The event kicks off in the

afternoon with loads of

activities including a

colouring contest, face painting,

raffles & much more - all hosted by the
Dundarave Merchants. Art work for

the colouring contest can be picked up

at any one of the Dundarave Merchants.
Finished art work must be dropped of at the

pony rides for the kids and a petting farm
with chickens, sheep and a pot belly pig plus
a Farmers Market at Capers. The famous
Beer Garden, open from 6:00 to 10:30 p.m. is
back too! Fresh corn on the cob and hot
dogs will also be available.
"The Dundarave Hoedown gives the business
community a wonderful opportunity to
share a family event where
everyone can enjoy these last
days of summer," says
Graham. “We're coming up to
our eighth year now and each
one has been a real success. Everyone
has a great night, plus we're able to
raise funds for the West Van
Seniors Centre at the same time."
If previous years are any indicator, the
Dundarave Hoedown is an event not to be

Cherry Tree by 4:00pm on the 29th. At 5:30 missed. So mark your calendars for August
p.m. the streets will be closed off and the 29th ! Then get ready to kick back and enjoy
barbecue grills started. There will be free an unforgettable evening of great family fun!
