Gafarghobani was
sentenced to 28
months in jail on
Monday for his part
in a 1996 North
Vancouver shooting
that left a man para-
lyzed.

Gafarghobani, 21, pleaded
guilty to attempting to murder
Siamak Zahedi on June 25, 1996.
Zahedi , then 24, was shot while
reclining on a bed ina basement
si in the 300-block of West

Believed to be those of missing Japanese woman

THE skeietal remains found near
Cates Park on Sunday have been ten-
tatively identified as a Japanese
woman who went missing in June
1995.

The missing woman, Hiroka Kobayashi, 38, was in
the process of moving from her Vancouver apartment to
a basement suite in the Capilano area when she disap
peared. Her Honda Civic was found parked in the Seven
