One of the most common
Variations Of s.aich play is me
Nassau,

Thar is when piayers or
teams (or both) play three sepa-
rate matches in the same round.
One match covers the front
nine, one match covers the back
nine and the final match covers
the entire 18 holes.

So, for instance, if Player A
is one hole up after the 9th, he
wins the first bet and continues
to lead by one hole in the
match for the entire 18. which
continues on the back nine. A
fresh back-nine match begins
on the 10th hole.

Anytime a player or team
presses, it means a new match
starts on the hole they issue the
press and continues thraugh te
the 18th hole, or until the
match is out of reach.

That meaas, in the most
outrageous of situ tions, there
can wssentially be 17 separate
matches ~ outside of the origi-
nal three in vour Nassau —-
when the round is complete.

Wolf is a great icebreaker if .

some or a regular pairing joins
another twosome — because
everybody eventually gets to

“wolf” gets to choose who his
partner will be for that hole

obvious choice but another play-
er 20 vards farther from the hole
may just be a fantastic iron player.

Either way, when the wolf
makes his choice, the pairs are
set for that hale. A win. gives
each of the partners a point and
you move on to the second hole,
where a new wolf takes over.

(The order for wolf’ rights
should be pre-determined and
the rotation simply continues).
