eep Cove fires
lead to charges

TWO PEOPLE face charges
following an alleged arson
spree early last year in Deep
Cove that caused an estimated
$250,000 damage.

Fires were allegedly set on Feb.
13, 1994 near three homes over a
one-hour period. One of the homes
was destroyed,

Two vehicles, two boats and a

. carport also went up in smoke.

The North Vancouver RCMP
arrested an adult and a juvenile
shortly afterwards.

Charges were laid more than 4
year later.

Jesse David Tynan, 19, of North
Vancouver, was charged in March
with five counts of arson and four
counts of committing mischief in
connection with the incident.

A second male-who was 17 at

the time was charged with the
same offences. His name cannot be
published as stipulated in the
Young Offenders Act.

News story the first of three fires
ignited at 2626 Panorama Dr. A car
burned there at 4 am

The next fire was allegedly set
at a house at 925 Broadview Dr.
The house was destroyed along
with two boats,:-a vehicle and a
carport,

A third fire damaged a house at
2579 Hyannis Pt. in the Blueridge
area.

No one was ‘injured in the
blazes which kept 24 firefighters
busy, according the Nes report.

The mischief charge relating to
the Broadview Drive house alleges
that the fire caused “actual danger
to life” to two people living there.

The arson charge linked to the
Hyannis Point home states the
house was. occupied when a fire
was allegedly set on the property.
