JHERE WAS an excellent crowd last Wednesday night at
Park Royal South where hundreds of supporters of North
Siiore Family Services turned out to enjoy ‘‘An Evening of
Food and Fashion,” the excellent taste treats and fashion

show benefit.

The response had ta make the
hard-working chairman, Susan
Evans, simply delighted!

Loved Chez Michel's garticky
shrimp, the Beachside Cafe's tasty
quiche, the Dundarave Cafe’s
baked cheesecake, Summerhill
Estates’ champagne and Bright
Wines’ $50-a-bottle Ice Wine, the
perfect finale to a culinary coup!

As always it’s the people who
make the event and it was nice to
chat with so many, including the
busy butcher Peter Black, Remax
realtor Brent Eilers and his
brother Don, Christmas Wonders’
Raymond Lunny, Capers’ Lionel
Wilson (who has just scooped Ann
Milne as Capers’ executive chef),
the Liberals’ Audrey Sojonky in
bright Grits red, and Heather-
ingtons’ Sandi Graham, who has
some very exciting plans ahead.

Also there were Yulanda Farris,
Paul and Nicole Reynolds and one
of the wittiest ladies I know, Van
mag’s very sharp Valerie Wilson.

She’s not only tres chic, she's
an absolute hoot!...

Former Speaker of the House
and West Van resident John
Reynolds was back in town for
business meetings last week.

He and his wife Yvonne now
live in Scottsdale, Arizona, and
they just moved into their
spacious new mansion there...

Downtown in the heart of

new key team at Delta Place, one
of the most underraied hotels in
town,

It’s directly across the street
from Ruy Paes-Braga’s Four
Seasons Hotel and you’re past it

Well, this new key team is
about to make an impact.

The new general manager is
North Van's Marc Armstrong, late
of O’Doul’s Hotel.

The new director of sales is the
enthusiastic Victoria Pratt, who
has been with the Delta chain for
the past six years, while the new
food and beverage director is
Yvon Lambert, who has just ar-
rived from Delta’s Sherbrooke
Hotel! in Quebec.

They plan on continuing the
hotel’s tradition of distinction
while still bringing in some ex-
ciling innovations...

Still in the hotel world, it was a
wonderful surprise birthday party
Jast week at Jacques Omnes’
Coast Plaza for the president of
the Coast Hotels, Franco
Anglesia.

It was a celebration marking
Franco’s first half-century.
