positive life-changing expe-

to a new and profound
sense of freedom and

North Shore Family Services
Society ‘(SFSS) is offering an
evening mini-lecture that is
designed to help women become
aware of, and understand, the
emotional and physical changes
that occur during the meopausal
“years,

The lecture, titled Coping with
Menopause and Mid-Life
Changes, includes a discussion

period, costs $13, and runs from
7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on. Tuesday,
Nov. 3, at Carson Graham sec-
ondary school, 2145 Jones Ave. in
North Vancouver.

Facilitated by Maggie Pickering,
a registered nurse and community
educator on women’s health
issues, the evening will provide a
holistic approach to the effective
management of all aspects of
menopause.

“It’s important to look at the
whole situation during this stage,”
says Pickering. ‘‘Both personal
and environmental factors will af-
fect each woman’s own experience
and make it unique.”
