Grouse to hold
Moison finals

GROUSE MOUNTAIN will host
the Molson Canadian Masters
Alpine Series provincial finals on
March 4 and 5.

Over 130 competitors will vie for
gold, silver, and bronze medals, as
well as draw prizes. The race takes
place on Centennial slope.

The Molson Canadian Masters is
Canada’s largest adult recreational!
racing program, with events in
B.C., Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario,
Quebec, and Nova Scotia.

It is open to anyone over the age
of 19. The oldest racer in B.C. this
year is 73.

Participants compete in races
throughout the season, which cul-
minate in the national! champion-
ships at Whistler in early April.

At the nationals, competitors
from all across Canada who quali-
fied during the season will race for
personal and team points.

The Masters was started five
years ago by former Crazy Canuck
Dave Murray, and Don McQuaid,
an ¢x-pro racer.

What started as a six-race series
in B.C. has grown to become a
successful national program.

There will be a Xerox Masters
ski clinic at Grouse on March 3.
The clinic is open to all adults and
is designed as a training day for
the weekend races.

Some of B.C.’s top coaches, in-
cluding Mark Taylor, Bobby
Allison, Blake Andreassen, and
Mike Noc, will be on hand to offer
tips and advice on racing and gen-
eral skiing technique.
