TIMOTHY RENSHAW table hopping Crepes, for those who give any amount of hoots about such details, should rhyme with steps when pronounced, not leaps, as is my wife’s wont, or grapes as was my wont until advised otherwise. But most pronunciations will be accepted at Aba Tanagram. Sandwiched between a pet grooming shop and a pizza parlor just west of the 22nd Street Cale, the restaurant has limited seating (six tables), but also offers takeout service for those with more cefined fast-food aspirations. The available Tanagram seats provide good roadside views of harried West Vancouver residents moving between local revitaliza- tion projects — entertaining, especially for out-of-towners. In addition to their congenial fla- vor, soft, thin texture and overall versatility, crepes are delightfully cheap, at least they are delightfully cheap at Aba Tanagram. A Ham, Tomato and Cheese crepe ($3) came stuffed with generous amounts of all three advertised fillings. tt was garnished simply with tomato wedges, sour cream and a sprig of parsley. A side of potato salad ($1 extra) was very good. Its new potatoes, cut into large unpeeled chunks, were accompanied by red pepper, carrots, onions, celery and red kidney beans in the traditional mayonnaise base. Combined, the two made a light but filling meal.
