Coffeemakers
recalled

PROCTOR-SILEX Canada Inc.
has announced it is voluntarily
recalling certain drip coffeemakers
made prior to April, 1986, because
they represent a potential fire or
shock hazard.

The coffee makers involved are
Mode! AS66W Series G3758 and
Model A567W Series D4258 and
Series D1068. The model and series
numbers are stamped on the bot-
tom of the appliance.

The potential hazard was
discovered by Proctor-Silex. It
results from a defect in a compo-
nent part of the coffeemaker, sup-
plied by another company.

These units were manufactured
during three one-week production
runs in the months of September
and October of 1985 and March
1986.

The coffeemakers subject to the
voluntary recall are no longer be-
ing manufactured, nor are they
available in retail stores.

In the interest of safety, the
manufacturer requests that owners
of Proctor-Silex coffeemakers car-
rying the above model and series
numbers discontinue their use and
return them by mail, as soon as
possible. The unit should be pack-
ed carefully.

Include a label with your name
and mailing address in block print.

The coffeemaker will be
reworked and. returned at no
charge. Reworked units can be
identified by the addition of the
letter “R’’ and three additional
characters adjacent to the ‘‘Series’’
code.

The glass carafes and accessories
should not be returned.
