(News, May 29). We seem to jive
in an Alice in Wonderland world
where [ thiek Mary Collins,
Mulroney and their pals are un-
aware of public opinion about this
and most other issues. Perhaps

Reports waste
taxpayers’ cash

Dear Editor:

It is bad enough that the provin-
cial government should squander
taxpayers’ money on production
of Provincial Report, now
municipal taxpayers in West Van-
couver face similar waste with the
unsolicited appearance of West
Vancouver Report.

If there is public demand for
such things, surely would-be con-
sumers ought to purchase the items
instead of their cost being added to
already-inflated tax bills.

Does anyone in his right rind
think that had Japan won the war,
now almost one half-century later
the shops in Japan would be
Mooded with American-made cam-
eras, motor cars, etc? The same
could be said of West Germany.
Much more likely that the *‘Thou-
sand Years’’ Reich would be on
the way to becoming a reality and,
probably by now, casting a
covetous eye on the rising sun.

The next federal election cannot
come soon enough for those of us
who thought they were voting
“Conservative” in the last elec-
tion. The kindest remark I’ve
heard about the present bunch is
“‘most disappointing’. Of course,
the problem is for whom shall we
vote? I am tempted to vote Social-
