The idea was to
create oa fashion
book with a broad
spectrum of tastes
and topics. The pho-
tographers all) con-
tribured at feast one
image to aid Gilda’s
Club, a breast can-
cer charity. Founded
by actor = Gene -
Wilder in honour of his late wife, Gilda
Radner, Gilda’s Club is a place for the sup-
port and aid of cancer victims and their loved
ones,

The result of the contributions is a book
of contemporary fashion photography that is
as multi-faceted as the fashion world. There

are beautiful por-
traits and dramatic,
i creations,
eaux and
whr-provoking

subject that
can be interpreted in
so many different
the pho-
tog aphs will evoke a
variety of responses,
but that is the plea-
sure of a book with
this much diversity.
David LaChapelle’s
Spaghetti Dramas
and Mario Testino’s
portrait of Elizabeth
Hurley are worlds
apart in their
approach to fashion
but both are includ-
ed and represent the
range of the book.
There is no text, just
page after page of
large . photographs,
giving a record of this collection, which was
auctioned off after its exhibition — a good
cause aided by many of the bright lights of
the world of fashion photography.
