Sunday, March 2, 1997 — North Shore News — 35 Dukes win championship Girls gymnastics’ team wins 26th annual event By Andrew McCredie Sports Editor AFTER being the bridesmaids the past two seasons, the Windsor Dukes girls’ gymnastic team took top billing away from Handsworth at the annual North Shore Championships last weekend. Led by strong novice and Level | individual efforts, the Dukes outpninted second-place Handsworth 134 to 111. The Royals had won the past nvo championships, so for the Dukes If Was sweet reve c. Rockridge finished third in the team com- petition with 71 points, followed by Sutherland (58), Balmoral (18), and West Vancouver (16).
