TWO of the three North Shore munici- palities were honored for their flower power this month in the national Communities in Bloom Awards. West Vancouver topped the award winners in its cate- gery of municipalities with populations between 20,001 and 50,000. North Vancouver District came in fourth in its category of 50,001 to 109,009 popula- tion, behind Saint John, New Brunswick; Guelph, Ontario; and Kelowna. Among the eight munici- palitys competing in West Van's category were Stratford, Ontario; Westmount, Quebec; and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. West Vancouver — parks superintendent Bill Reid said that the judges noted the work done along the water- front, the country-like charm of residential areas and the streetscape on Dundarave.
