Quiet, peaceable Kilshannon

quivers with gossip as the cold

shoulder heats up to cold-blood-

_ed murder.

What starts out as a wry char-
acter Comedy turns into an unex-
pected delight. Joan Plowright
carries on like a black-garbed
empress, with round-eyed indig-
nation, regal bearing and clipped
enunciation. After similar roles in
Enchanted April and The
Suminer House, she pretty much
owns this character — lock,
stock and brogue.

Although some of the dialects
are at times hard to understand,
don‘t worry about not catching
the accents. Just make sure you
catch this film.
