His nomination for an Academy Award is for his hit song, Everything I Do (I Do It For You) in the category called Best Achievement in Music for an Original Song. The Oscars will be hosted by BRYAN ADAMS will perform his Oscar-nominated song dur- ing the Academy Awards cer- emony on March 30. funnyman Billy Crystal, and takes place in Los Angeles on March 30. Bryan has already been nominated for six Grammies (the American music awards show which takes place Tuesday night), and for seven Junos which will be presented on March 29 on the day before the Oscars. The rest of the news is that Bryan will not only be there, he'll perform his award-winning song from the movie, Robin Hoad Prince of Thieves... Recent business news is that a fairly new-to-the-market health food snack has snagged one of Canada’s heroes for endorsement of the product. If you happened to watch CBC-TV’s Evening News early last week and saw reporter Alyn Edwards’ story about Lorie Hud- son, there is a North Shore con- nection. Lorie is a former exotic dancer who was caught in a drug deal in South America and spent 414 years in a Peruvian prison. A good part of the story’s research tapes came from the files of West Van filmmaker, Gary Payne. Gary met Lorie some time ago and has acquired the movie rights to her story. He’s already been talking to several interested movie companies, including Tri-Star, about doing a TV movie called Sin For A Season. He was elected Tuesday night at the 73rd annual meeting at the Hotel Vancouver. The Real Estate Board’s charity is the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Over the past 14 years, they have managed to raise $1.4 mil- lion for the society. It was the retiring president of the board, Rosemary Barnes, who presented a welcome cheque to Multiple Sclerosis Society VP, Bob Tulk. The checue was worth $102,059.67... Cheers!
