Shaw petition acknowledged

THE RECEPTION was good but the picture was in-
complete as North Vancouver District Council grappled
Monday to fine tune Jast week’s Shaw Cable worker request
for support of a petition to the Canadian Radio-Television
and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).

Council voted to move acknow!-
edgement of receipt of the petition
presented before council Sept. 8 by
locked-out members of the Inter-
national Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers Local 213.

Council also supported a motion
from Ald. Mary Segal voicing
council’s concern regarding the
lack of community television pro-
gramming because of the dispute.
