The speaker for the upcoming pet care talk will be April Johnston, manager of North Vancouver District-owned Maplewood Farm. Johnston said she'll be bringing two or three different types of animals to the talk, including a rabbit, guinea pig and a bird. She said some of the subjects to be covered will include where pets are available and the commitment and responsibility required in own- ing a pet. A rabbit is a pet that Johnston said she tries to dissuade people from getting. “They don't come when called and pecole get tired of them rather quickly, We get calls daily (at Maplewood Farm) from people wanting to give their cabbits away,’' she said. Johnston said unfortunately Maplewood Farm isn't able to take these rabbits. She said the talk is flexible and can deal with questions that par- ticipants have on any aspect of pet care.
