inaibox Youth will pay for NDP Dear Editor: I am a young man of almost 22. I have before me several pieces of NDP literature put out by Mr. Schreck’s campaign office. It is quite interesting to read them. The NDP, although very concerned about education and health care, don’t un- derstand the tremendous strain that their policies and programs will put on the economy. The Province says NDP proposals will cost 900 million dollars, but I say (allowing for inflation, etc.) Rhinoceros Party makes more sense Dear Editor: Neither Mr. Bennett nor Mr. Barrett are offering the solutions. Many of us are working for parties that once held our beliefs, in either free en- terprise or sécialism. Now we can watch as our parties are almost merging; both are afraid to stand up for their “ideologies” in a vain at- tempt to “win the voters”. The Rhinoceros Party begins to make a lot more sense! Sue Cook North Vancouver that they will amount to two billion dollars or more! Why do the NDP scream about “mismanagement of the economy” by the Socreds when they want to turn around and triple the deficit? Mr. Barrett and Mr. Schreck - who's calling who a bunch of “hypocrites”? Mr. Schreck, you can’t mortgage the future of this province to pay for the present. All you're doing is dumping the problem on young people like myself. What a thing to look forward to! I don’t think putting more money into education will secure the future for young people. I graduated from the public school system four years ago and I know. Young people must be taught to love learning and to become contributing members of society. Given that, teachers must learn to properly manage _ the resources available to them. My final statement is intended for the undecided voters of North Van/Seymour: please vote for Mr. Davis of the Social Credit party. He stands for free enterprise and stopping the encroachment of government into the private sector. He believes that the future can only be secured if young people like myself are allowed the freedom to develop their potential] and not be burdened by high taxes.
