NV man receives
jail for cop threat

A NORTH Vancouver man
convicted of threatening to
torch a RCMP officer was sen-
tenced to four months in jail
recently.

Bruce Lestie Lioyd, 42. was
found guilty of threatening and

Ltoyd has two previous convic-
tions related to his association with
Friesen, according to court evi-
dence.

The convictions include an
assault in June 1994 and commit-
ting mischief by using a bat to
destroy two of Friesen’s telephones
in May 1995,

Judge lan Walker also sentenced
Lloyd to 12 months" probation dur-
ing sentencing proceedings on Jan.

The police officer was threat-
ened on the back steps of the
Seymour-area home of Lloyd's girl-
friend, Jacqueline Friesen.

Lloyd threatened to throw guso-
line on Doyle and light him on fire.

Friesen had called police claim-
ing Lloyd was attempting to break
into her house.

In addition to the charges
involving the police officer, Lloyd
was found guilty of committing
mischief by damaging Friesen’s
