Nationally, 75 per cent of par- ticipants who complete the pro- gram are non-smokers after 10 weeks. The first night of Y-Smoke is a free introductary session. The next introductory sessions are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 26 at North Vancouver YMCA, 440 Hendry Ave., and Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the ith the ‘Y’ West Vancouver YMCA, 1735 In- glewood Ave. Both sessions start at7 p.m. Access to fitness prograins at the Y, a computer nutritional analysis and the opportunity to have a fitness appraisal are all available with the program. Two major areas of emphasis are weight’ control and stress management, common concerns for many when quitting smoking.
