The 31-year-old Deita resi- dent made the tip dressed only in running shoes, shorts, a T- shirt and sweatshirt. Lux Jost the tail upon his down to Lions Bay. But time was not on his side as nightfall eventually caught up with him, stranding the under- dressed hiker in the wilderness. The trek had taken its coll as he was not only cold but also bruised and cut up. Lux made two critical errors on his excursion. First, he went out without telling anyone where he was going. As Lions Bay Search and Rescue manager Ed Langford pur it; “you are really lost when no one knows you are lost.” His second mistake was set- ting out into the wilderness without proper equipment. Both errors caught up with him. He was stranded for the night. As it turned out, some- one else’s misfortune turned out to be his savior. Two other unrelated hikers also were lost that day. The next day, as these two made their way through the rough terrain, they heard faint but audible cries tor. help. They had inadvertently stumbled onto the weak and injured Lux. They called for help and Lux was eventually rescued with the assistance of a Canadian Forces helicopter. — Robert Galster descent from the peak and decided to follow a créck gully as he tried to make his way fue te overwhelming response, this promotion will be Expires Nov 30/97 Have an Esso Supreme Winter Get ready for wa at Esso! | Maintenance - Tur “Up new sales shree times a week Finally, the cell phone for people who don’t want to be seen with a cell phone.
